Wednesday

after Bible Study but before Basketball Camp we headed to a park for lunch and playtime.  This park was empty, nicely shaded and had a shelter and restrooms but the playground equipment was sparse and dated.  We enjoyed ourselves anyway!

Sewing and Play Date

A friend and her three younger daughters came over for a play and sewing date.  Her younger girls are close to my girls ages so they mostly played while we sewed!  M has sewn but not used many patterns.  A couple of years ago they had made aprons, they wanted bonnets to match.  I have that pattern, so they came over with fabric, sewing machine and "Puppy Chow" ( a yummy chocolate peanut butter snack mix) in hand.  We cut out bonnets, sewed and ironed and sewed some more.  The time came for them to leave before we were finished, but I sent her home with the pattern and some verbal instructions to supplement the pattern directions.  She sent me an email with pictures of the completed bonnets, her girls looked adorable and she was so pleased!  I finished my girls bonnets as well and we have plans for some pinafores. . .

Tuesday Nights we have Dog 4H,

so we headed to the beach in the afternoon instead!

July 23rd is

Vanilla Ice Cream Day, we didn't have any so we had to improvise!

It was windy tonight

and the wind was making waves on our lake, pretty big waves for our little lake.  The children were working on their body boarding and skim boarding techniques!

While

I was watching the sun rise over the lake, behind me a rainbow was forming.  When I turned back toward the house to go in, I saw a rainbow forming.  As I watched it became complete and then double.

Spray Park

After a long, hot day at the Air Show AND a trip to the grocery store we stopped off for some cool, wet fun at the spray park!

Riding the bus back to

our car in the parking lot C sang,  "Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round."

Fire Truck

This was not on display but on duty, it was still fun to look at though!

They had a World War II Display

and a tent with World War II Veterans who were visiting and telling their stories.

There were Rinos everywhere!

It was a hot day and we were unable to bring in food or water, backpacks or coolers.  We were allowed to bring in an empty water bottle however, so we did!  and kept it filled at these potable water stations.
