In Preparation for Our Trip

the kids and I colored in maps.  C and S will be adding a couple of states, MA and NH. H only one, because she was actually in MA already, when she was a baby, I took her along to my cousin's wedding.  I can see some road trips in our future to fill in my uncolored states!

Leonardo Craft Store

After we visited the library we continued several stops further south on the orange line to Teply Stan Metro Station.  Last summer we had discovered a wonderful craft store at the mall there.  We visited again and got a few art supplies for the airplane trip and some more yarn, the girls are constantly knitting or crocheting.  Although we love the store it is quite far away and not really near anything else we do.  Thankfully our friends found anther Leonardo Craft store much closer, thanks T family for sharing intel!

Hinkson Christian Academy, Moscow Russia

Although the children do not attend the school they welcome us to use the library.  It takes over an hour for us to travel there so during the school year it is not feasible but in the summer it makes for a nice outing, especially when friends come along!  We chose books, read some at the library and enjoyed a picnic afterwards.

Mixing Metros

Shopping in the Perehod

The girls wanted to get matching somethings to take to NH to share with their cousin E, the girls like to dress alike.  They found skirts in one of the shops in the perehod near Prospect Mira Metro Station.  you can buy just about anything in these little shops!

Moscow Mode

Can you see the stretch comb in his hair?  Yes, his, yes, I'm sure.  They are a very popular fashion accessory for men with long hair in Moscow.

The woman on the right is a photographer, I have to assume the one on the left was modeling something other than not wearing white underwear under a see through dress. . .
The spiked belt and the wallet chain didn't seem to go with the skinny jeans and the oxford cloth shirt but when you add the fanny pack worn slung across his chest I suppose it all came together.

MGU Botanical Garden

When I saw this blossom I said it looked like the Catalpa tree we had in MA,

sure enough it was!

Surprisingly, this was the only wedding we saw this Sunday.

There were lots of babies napping and mamas, papas, and babushkas reading.

Baby grapes!

This and the bottom sign explained the bamboo structure being added to the koi pond.

This sign tells us about the recycled wind catchers.
