Good Morning

In the Shop

Caleb and Roger paint baseboards to go in the living room, dining room, and sitting room after the floors are refinished. Roger persisted and he found wide baseboards at the Sioux Falls Habitat ReStore.  They will fit the age and character of the house much better than the current narrow ones and the ones currently available at the home improvement stores.

On the Way Home

I thought I saw a lot of deer in SD...

Roger loves the porch on this house.

Northern Missouri

The next morning we repeated the omelette before heading North to see Don and Melissa.  I enjoyed a tour of the barn and the new pens Eli had made, before visiting Eli's family's Basketmaking shop.  After a referral from Ben we headed to another Amish farm where a family makes cabinets and agreed to make a table for us out of black walnut from Don's farm.  Then we had lunch at the local cafe before heading back to their home for tea and a long chat before heading out.  Thank you for the hospitality.

While Roger had meetings In Kansas City I planned to meet friends for the day.

His meetings were postponed due to illness, so he worked in the hotel room and I carried on with my plans.  Firstly, Roger and I had breakfast, might have been the best spinach artichoke omelette I ever had.  Then I met Naomi and Rachel for lunch at a great taco joint.  Later, we walked to a coffee shop with a cool patio on the rooftop.  Lastly, we picked up Angela from work and we had supper at a famous BBQ restaurant.  Food was yummy, locations cool, but time with friends so precious!
