is known as the Flower Moon, the Planting Moon or the Hare Moon. This May's full moon is a "super" moon, as much as 14% bigger and 30% brighter than other full moons of 2012. The scientific name of this moon is the Perigee Moon and it occurs because of the oval shape of the moon's orbit. The bright object in the lower right of the picture is a highway marker, we were traveling home, into storms and I was afraid the moon would not be visible due to cloud cover once we got home. It was not, and the cloud cover brought 8 inches of rain overnight.
