On the Road Again

Traffic in Moscow

Gingerbread from the Tula Region
After lunch we got on the road.  Distance wise it should take about four hours to drive between Lipetsk and Moscow, however when driving you add on two hours for traffic.  As we drove through the Tula Region I noticed that near each rest stop/bus stop there was a babushka selling something, D explained the Tula Region was know for its gingerbread.  On one of our stops I bought some to take home.  It was cuter than it was tasty.  It was very dry and crumbly and not very gingery.

Also, on our way home we saw a fatal accident.  R had told us that if there is a fatal accident the police or ambulance workers cover the body but leave it for the family to come get it.  Sadly, R and M saw the covered body.  Due to the seating arrangements and some distraction the rest of the children and I missed the deceased, although we did pray for the family and the emergency workers.

Of course we arrived in Moscow at rush hour, so after a while D dropped us at a metro stop and we hopped on the metro.  When we got to our stop we ran in the grocery store for rotisserie chicken, a loaf of bread and a head of lettuce.  We still arrived at home before D got there with the van and the luggage.
