Along the coast of Tenerife is a small city named Candelaria. In ancient times a statue washed ashore, it is unclear whether it was a Statue of the Madonna or a figurehead from a ship...But she became known as the Virgin of Candelaria. Today there is a Basillica of Candelaria, next to the Cave of San Blas on the Plaza where there are also statues of nine Aboriginal Guanches Kings.
