Thanksgiving Lunch at IKEA, our table seemed a bit empty, in the beginning of course, M was with us, and later Mrs. T joined us. |
Thanksgiving is not a holiday celebrated by Russians. So, R does not have the day off. Our first year year here I intended it to be a regular school day, knowing we'd have a few extra days off around the Christmas holidays. But, no way were the children having that! We tossed around ideas and needing Christmas decorations decided we'd go to IKEA for meatballs and find Christmas decorations. Now lest you think I was quitting the All-American holiday entirely let me remind you we have celebrated Thanksgiving each year, twice some years, just on the weekend. Well, my children are all about traditions and having done something that they enjoy even just once will declare it a tradition. Thus began our Thanksgiving Day IKEA trip tradition.
