Walking back to the bus we spotted this ingenious way of getting things to the apartment without having to carry them up the stairs.

In John 2:1-11 Jesus, his disciples, and His mother were in Cana of Galilee for a wedding.  It is here that He performed His first miracle turning water into wine.

Tel Megiddo

The water source was located outside the walled city and accessed by steps and a tunnel.  

The elaborate, extensive water system.

 Megiddo is an ancient city whose remains form a Tel, or mound.  Archeologists have unearthed 26 layers indicating a long period of settlement, including a Canaanite City State during the Bronze age and a royal city in the Kingdom of Israel in the Iron Age.  Famous battles fought between Egyptians and Canaanites, Egyptians and The Tribe of Judah and during WWI between the Allied Troops and the Ottomans occured here.  In Greek it is Armageddon, and in the Book of Revelations in the Bible it is the location of the final battle.
