Checking on Salem
In the spring after they've given birth and when the grass is green the cows get trailered to Salem about 50 minutes from our home. They have about 80 acres with a stream in wet years and two waterers for the dry years. There is a barb wire fence and an electric fence. The man that lives nearby calls us if the cows get out. Kyle usually has some cow or alfalfa or fence or pasture chore to do on the weekends. So, he checks all the things when he is there. But since he's been trucking this spring it was harder for him to make a midweek check. I find checking the fence, the waterers, and the cows delightful!
