is a statue created by Vera Mukhina for the 1937 World's Fair in Paris. The word Kolkhoz means female collective farm worker. The sculpture shows a worker holding a hammer and a female farm worker holding a sickle. The sculpture is an example of socialist realist and art deco style. After the fair the sculpture was moved to Moscow just outside VDNKh. There was a giant, moving reproduction of the statue in the opening ceremony of the 2014 Winter Olympics.
