| Riga Castle is the home of the President of Latvia. |

| Riga Castle was founded in 1330, rebuilt between 1497 and 1515, annexes were added by the Swedish in 1641. |

| The Castle while home to the President also houses several museums. It was undergoing reconstruction while we were there and was not open to the public. |

| On the banks of the River Daugava is a monument to Big Christopher who according to legend carried people across the river before there were bridges. |
