My Dad

this is a photo I took of a photo that my sister S took while in ME earlier in July
went missing Wednesday, July 25th while on vacation at Stinson Lake near Rumney, New Hampshire.  He is still missing.  We love you, Dad.

Vacation:  making memories, taking photos, eating ice cream and lobstah, sleeping late, rising early, taking naps, reading novels, magazine, e-readers, playing cards, visiting friends and family, exploring new places, enjoying old favorites, watching the sun rise, watching the sun set, swimming in the lake, river, stream, pond, pool, ocean, dipping your toes in the ocean, making a sand castle, picking up rocks and seashells, going for a boat ride, climbing a lighthouse, tower, tree, mountain, touring a museum, house, aquarium, watching a ball game, race, the kids, driving, flying, riding, swinging on swings and ropes, telling stories, jokes, about old vacations, drinking and eating ice tea, sweet corn, peaches, "french fish", fluff, fruit roll ups,  . . .

My parents drove to Maine, where they started their vacation, then they drove South to New Hampshire where they continued their wonderful vacation.  My sisters and their families joined my parents at their NH cottage and they did vacation things.  I looked at pics and heard quips and quotes by email and facebook.  We talked by spotty cell phones.  Since their vacation was nearly over and he hadn't done it yet, Wednesday morning my Dad set out to walk around the lake, after taking out the garbage but planning to be back in time for pancakes for breakfast.  Something unforeseen, tragic, unthinkable, unexpected, horrible happened, and he didn't come back

The State and Local police, the New Hampshire Fish and Game, the Red Cross, the PEMI Valley Search and Rescue Team, the people of the area, friends and relatives looked tirelessly in less than ideal conditions for him Wednesday afternoon through Sunday with no trace.  Although it has been scaled back the search continues.  We are so thankful to all those who helped in any way, words will never be able to express our gratitude. We are so thankful for those who continue to search.

We are so thankful also for the love, support and prayers shown by friends and family near and far.  The cards, letters, emails, phone calls,  gift cards, meals, and snacks have been overwhelming and we thank you.

Please continue to pray and keep Dad and us in your thoughts, we need them.

Please forgive any omissions, I have not intentionally left anyone out, we are so appreciative but also overwhelmed.
