The Beginnings of a Tour

The elevator room, interiors of two of the elevators, the door to the elevator room on our floor, sign that says 3rd floor and the door to our apartment.  Our apartment occupies original apartments 18, 22 and 23.  The funny thing is on our floor the other apartments are numbered 15, 16, 17, and then ours is 22.

Golden Ring Hotel Lobby

This is the hotel where we meet for church.  They've added water and fish to the fountain!

Friendship Park ~ парк дружбы

Our new apartment is on the edge of this park, just a couple buildings down from our very first apartment building.  It is a beautiful park right on the river with lots of sculptures, paths, and playgrounds.  It is a pleasant 10 minute walk through the park to the metro station and a mall.

Softball Tournament, Moscow Russia

Several years ago for a couple of years, R played softball with a guy he met on the metro because he was wearing a Red Sox fleece.  They've stayed in touch.  In fact this summer they went to an Ozzy Osbourne Concert together.  R called I to see if they had a game we could go watch.  Turns out it was tournament weekend and not only were there games to watch there were teams in need of players. So, R played softball again.  He had a few great hits, a couple of epic catches but overall decided he wasn't willing to get in the way of the ball anymore.  We went to watch, enjoy some sunshine, do some planks and watch a dragonfly.  We had a bit of trouble finding the field though, until I heard baseball chatter.  Good thing the Cubans were playing, it was a like a beacon.  After their game they had music and cigars and drinks and they were bbqing shashlik.  One thing the Cubans and the Russians have in common is the ability to have fun.
