Apologies for the Picture Quality

A farm? A rodeo? A meat packing plant?

 A suburb of St. Petersburg

Beautiful Birch trees

The fence and security lights surrounded a reservoir

Can you see the pink geraniums in the windows?

These trees were full of apples.

All photos taken out the window while R, the driver, was driving at breakneck speed from St. Petersburg to Moscow.  On a road that is the main artery between two of the largest cities(the two largest?) in Russia, that is mostly 3 lane except for the couple miles into and out of St.Petersburg and Moscow, that is the way for goods to get from St. Petersburg, the seaport and Moscow, that does not have bypasses. . .R is a good driver and we feel safe, it is however, a harrowing experience and one we do not want to repeat too quickly.

I love the wooden houses in the villages and along the roadside.  I love the colors on the houses and in the gardens.  I love the goats, sheep, geese and chickens grazing along the road.  I love the cows, horses, and mules picketed in the roadside ditches.  I love the contrast that is Russia.
