In the 1970's this was an escalator.

The metro station and the photos taken of the underside of the bridge were taken under the road that is center right in this photo.

Turns out the snowman building contest was on a common area on the grounds of MGU.

2014 is the Year of the Horse

Much of Moscow is heated by hot water radiators, the water must be heated somewhere, perhaps this is a steam plant.

After church we met M at Park Kultury Metro Station (where I took some photos) and then we journeyed on to Sparrow Hills Metro station.  Sparrow Hills metro station is above ground, above river actually.  We grabbed a bite to eat and walked up through the park looking for the remnants of a snowman building contest.  We found it, and enjoyed the creativity expressed in and with snow.
