Knossos Palace

Knossos is the largest bronze age archaeological site on Crete and is considered Europe's oldest city.  The palace was the ceremonial and political center of the Minoan civilization.  In Greek mythology Knossos was the palace of King Minos, who contracted with Daedalus to construct the labyrinth in which to contain his son the Minotaur.
