Lev Tolstoy, Russia

Yup, those are chicken feet (now called paws) on the sidewalk.

was formerly known as Astapovo, Russia.  The Russian writer Leo Tolstoy was traveling by train with his daughter and doctor and fell ill.  The stationmaster of the train depot opened his home to Tolstoy, he died there on November 20, 1910.  The town was renamed in his honor.

Joining R on another business trip to care for his stitches and remind him to rest I was able to visit this town and museum while he was at the nearby slaughter plant.
