The Hall, Our Front Door and the Elevator Hall

This is the hall, the doorway I am standing in to take the picture leads into the apartment.  The glass door you see at the end of the hall leads to the porch with the fire escape.  This is the porch I think I will try to grow some lettuce on in the spring.  The door you see left center of the photo is the front door.  In Russia it is considered impolite to wear ones street shoes into the house.  It is also considered impolite to walk around barefoot or in stocking feet, remember the box of slippers I showed you in the coat closet picture?  The boxes right center of the photo are empty and need to go to the dumpster.
