Friday, October 11, 2013 ~ Atlantic Beach NC

Thursday night I picked K up at the airport, we had a quick visit, some pot roast with veggies and some apple pie before I took him to his grandparents J's home.  Friday he spent the day with an old friend.  Friday night Mom and Dad J picked R up from the airport, he arrived at RDU from Moscow and drove to meet K, then R and K drove down to join us at Atlantic Beach arriving after midnight. 

The four younger children and  I left the Cary area earlier and arrived in Morehead City in time to grab some Bojangles for lunch.  Then we went to the boardwalk and town beach.  We watched some fishermen, some firefighters and EMS drill and saw the nets in the ocean and the tractor on the beach again.  One of the fishermen told us they use the tractor to haul the nets of mullet out of the ocean.  We walked and played on the beach and collected some seashells.  Pretty soon it was time to head down the beach a bit to find our weekend cottage.
