St.Basil's Cathedral

R and his cousin C

We had a delightful visit this week with R's mom's first cousin C from Vancouver.  R's birthday is this week and C got a notification in her email from Facebook.  She said she rarely reads the notices but she clicked on the message and saw that R was living in Moscow.  She sent a quick Facebook message because she was planning to be in Moscow for business on the weekend!  We made arrangements for R to meet her at the airport and for us to show her around our adopted home of Moscow.  After C had Cub Scouts we met them in Red Square at St. Basil's Cathedral where we toured the museum.  Unlike most of the other Russian Orthodox Cathedrals, the inside is divided into separate chapels and is set up as a museum rather than a place of worship.  We enjoyed the audio tour and got to hear someone singing in one of the chapels.  The acoustics are amazing.
