This is the section of town where the oldest profession in the world was once plied.  Note the irony.

While we saw a few of these trail markers I didn't look it up until after we got home, the walking trail included some historic sites I would have liked to see:  a gold rush museum and a pony express headquarters among others.  Well, the next time I'm in San Francisco. . .
