Welcome, Ribs

She was a market gilt who was accidentally bred by a boar who somehow missed becoming a barrow. . .the farmer sold her to us because he was not set up for farrowing.  Our intent was to let her raise her piglets and then send her to market.  When she came to us she had never had "slop" only grain.  She was hesitant to eat the table scraps.  One night she enjoyed leftover taco soup.  We joked that when she had her piglets we should name one of them chorizo(Mexican or Spanish sausage).  Her due date was an estimate because hers was not an intended pregnancy.  So each day we checked her for colostrum.
