JFK ~ April 25, 2014

This China jet was HUGE.

Caleb wanted to know if this was the same pigeon we saw in the terminal in October.  Probably not, buddy.

Sundogs
John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York City NY USA.  We used the new automated passport machines, but my passport was flagged, so we had to stop at a kiosk and talk to an immigration officer, one of the pitfalls of having a common name I suppose.  He was efficient, friendly and welcoming and soon sent us on our way.  We picked up our luggage, breezed through customs and dropped off our luggage before heading through security.  I must admit the TSA agents at JFK should take a few lessons from agents elsewhere.  As one of the first people immigrants or visitors to our country encounter, they do not provide a very welcoming face to America.  We boarded a bus to our departure terminal and then had plenty of time to eat, make some phone calls and chill out before boarding our flight to MSP.  There are usually two options leaving JFK for our final destination, one flight leaves within an hour of our landing and the other leaves about four hours later.  We don't choose the one hour option because we never know how smoothly passport control, customs, security and getting to the next terminal will go, but four hours is too much time. . .
