I enjoyed seeing all of the American flags!

Where the bear headed back into the woods.

The deer we saw just after the bear.

The front yard of this house was a mass of wild flowers, no lawn, it was beautiful.
Started off a little slow after our late night traveling home from MA with puzzles, coffee on the porch and some work for D.  Later, Grampa took the six grandkids to the lake while D, S, Mom and I visited a few thrift stores and Walmart for some essentials to take back to Russia and some supper things.  On our way home we had our second (and last) bear encounter of the week.  It was early evening, but the shadows were already long on the mountain, D was driving, S and I were in the back seat.  S exclaimed, "Watch out for the black dog!"  We, all at once,

shouted, "That's not a dog!"  We watched the bear cub lope across the road and into the woods while I fumbled, unsuccessfully, for my camera.  We waited for a few minutes hoping its mother would cross the road too.  S's husband J told us later that the mother bear had crossed in front of the cub.  During the rest of the week we went slowly by this spot on the road hoping for another glimpse to no avail.
