Cobh (pronounced Cove)

While eating lunch in Blarney City we met a group of young men with the US Navy on shore leave.  As we drove through Cobh we saw their US Navy ship.  Thank you for your service, we appreciate you.

Cobh, formerly known as Queenstown, is located on Great Island in Cork Harbor.  Cobh was the last port of call for the RMS Titanic on her fateful voyage in 1912.  Hence, the memorial to the Titanic.
And it was off of Crosshaven, south of Cobh, that a German U boat sank the RMS Lusitania, survivors and victims were brought to Cobh, there are more than 100 victims buried in the Old Town Cemetery.
