No you are correct we weren't supposed to fly through London we were supposed to fly through Germany. We arrived at the airport at 4 am after having left home at 2:30 am after having gotten a short nights sleep to see on the departures board that our flight had been cancelled. R quickly joined the AirBerlin line to find out what to do, and thankfully a women in front of him who spoke both Russian and English was able to tell us that any passengers flying onward from Germany were already rebooked on a flight through Heathrow BUT we had to go NOW because our new flight was leaving earlier than our original flight...Whew we made it to London and had a longer layover, but London has a kids playroom and a good restaurant. We still made it to Miami just a few hours later than planned. Miami airport, passport control customs, shuttle bus, where we met an interesting group that had just arrived back from Cuba where they had been studying architecture, check in to the hotel, dinner in the hotel restaurant and then BED!
