Brunch at the Metropol

The 1936 USSR Constitution was likely written in this room.

This is the room where, after attempting suicide in another hotel, Lee Harvey Oswald awaited a decision regarding his Soviet citizenship.

It is likely that in this room the decision to execute the Tsar and his family was made.

Our bookclub read _A Gentleman in Moscow_ by Amor Towles.  In the story an aristocrat lives under house arrest in the Metropol Hotel.  Although the story is a delightful read it is not very historically accurate as we found out on our tour of the famous hotel.  We did however, very much enjoy our breakfast and found out some other fascinating facts about the hotel.
