Bridge of Kisses

We were thrilled to see this ritual occur.

Some locks are little and some are big.

Some couples still choose to place their locks on the bridge.

We saw several keys on the ice, this one was attached to a cork, we think this fellow didn't get the idea of love being forever. . .
Evidently, kissing on a bridge is a customarily Russian thing to do on one's wedding day.  Putting a lock on a bridge to seal the deal seems to be imported from Italy.  It however seems to have caught on swimmingly!  Russian newlyweds were putting locks on bridges and Russian city workers were cutting them off.  The city erected a metal tree for the sole sentimental purpose of putting a lock on it.  The original tree has been joined by others creating a love orchard.  Not sure where they get the locks but I have a couple months before our anniversary to find one.
