Walk Back to the Hotel

We had hoped to stop into a shop or two to pick up some souvenirs, but nothing was open on Sunday morning.  It was kind of refreshing that the shops in Switzerland closed early and didn't open on Sunday, but I was unaware, and short a few Swiss army knives as gifts. . .So take a little advice from me, if you travel to Switzerland buy your souvenirs early in the day during the week!  We got checked out of our hotel with just enough time to grab some more yummy Swiss ice cream before we headed to the airport.  As we sat to eat our icecream, two men and a woman and an Irish setter walked by, R commented on the dog and they asked if they could join us!  They sat down and ordered coffees and shared about their town.  We wished one of the gentlemen a "Happy Birthday"  and they offered to treat us to our icecream as a welcome to their city!  It was a delightful end to a enjoyable visit in a welcoming and hospitable city and country.  Thank you Switzerland and the people of Basel and Thun!
