Lilac Garden, 10 Shchylokovskoye Shosse, Moscow Russia

Snack Picnic

Cottonwood Tree

Happy Mother's Day to me!

The girls are going to try to plant it!

Japanese Maple

This garden was beautiful and smelled delightful.  We were there about a week early, I think, the lilacs were just beginning to bloom.  The garden was started in 1954 by a local botany enthusiast, Leonid Kolesnikov.  He had earned the Stalin Prize in 1952 for his creation of hundreds of kinds of lilacs, many of which have local and soviet names.
