May 1st is Spring and Labor Day in Russia

The left poster celebrates Easter and the right, Spring and Labor Day.

In the former Soviet Union May 1st used to be called International Worker's Day.  Although it is still a public holiday the name has been changed to reflect the change in ideology.  Although there were still some marches and protests most people enjoyed the beautiful weather, their day off and the parks.  Because the holiday fell on a Wednesday, this year the Russian government chose to extend this holiday onto Thursday and Friday.  R headed to Lipetsk to work in a mostly empty office.
