Saturday

In the winter these trees were bare, since they look like pine trees I assumed that they had died and just hadn't been removed from the park yet. . .But this spring, much to my delight, they started to get green.  When I observed them closer I realized we had seen trees similar to this in northern Minnesota.  In Minnesota we called them Tamarack although another name for them is American Larch, here they seem to be called Larch.  They are a conifer that is deciduous, in other words they lose their leaves in the fall.  The needles are soft and springy and they have darling little cones.

There is a beautiful apple orchard in our park!

The girls find a friend in the park.

In the afternoon R and M went to scouts and the younger children and I headed to the park.  After scouts the younger children went shopping with R at our mall.  Then it was time for Pizza and Movie night, we have finished _When we Left Earth_ the NASA movies about the space program and moved on to _Macgyver_.
