Nuclear Bomb Bunker

Meeting outside the Bunker

Model of the above ground area and the bunker area on the left of the picture.

Can you see the Cyrillic letters on the typewriter.

You can book a party or wedding reception here!

The bunker was 18 floors underground, no elevators for this tour group!

This is the exit/entrance to the Brown Line of the Moscow Metro which they used to supply the bunker.

This area contained the original food prep area for the bunker and now houses a Karaoke Bar and an area for parties.

Another photo of the model.

An original AK47 very heavy!

Missile Launch Control ~ The tour guide asked for volunteers to key the launch sequence. . .R said this made him pretty uncomfortable!

The ceiling was two meters of marble concrete covered with concrete reinforced with steel bars.
On Saturday R had the opportunity to go on an expat tour with an agricultural genetic company.  They met for lunch then toured a Cold War Era nuclear bomb bunker located near Taganskaya Metro Station, afterwards they had supper.  Business cards and tall tales were exchanged.  R asked to take the camera with him and to his credit took pics and told me about them, thank you R!
