H is my beautiful, determined, smart, strong childhood stroke survivor.  Just in case you don't know, she suffered a Left Anterior Cerebral Artery Ischemic Stroke around birth which presented with apnea and seizures in her first 18 hours of life.  She has a diagnosis of mild to moderate right hemiplegia which is a type of cerebral palsy.  She has had OT, PT and SLP.  She enjoyed infant massage and therapeutic riding lessons.  She has undergone botox, serial casting, and a right heel cord release surgery.  She wears a foot/leg brace.  She runs, bikes, swims, rides, knits, crochets and does anything she sets her mind to!  She is not alone, the type of stroke she survived occurs in 1 out of every 2800 live births.  Spread the word, stroke affects babies and children!
