Sledding on a Snowy Saturday

Ice Fishermen returning home from the river.

Saturday, December 21, 2013is the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year.  In Moscow that means the sun rose at 9:58 am and set at 4:57 pm, giving us a day five minutes short of seven hours long.  Tomorrow will be one second longer!

Contrast that with the Summer Solstice when our day was 17 and 1/2 hours long!
