The Village of Michurinets

Although we were barely out of the city and could probably still see skyscrapers if we looked back along the railroad tracks, it felt as if we were in a whole different place.  It was quiet and there were few other walkers out and about.  Like many other places in Russia a thoroughly modern dacha was right next door to one that had been there for years and years, a vacation home that would have been at home in Aspen shared a fence with a much more modest dacha that may have still had outdoor plumbing.

Not long after I arrived in Russia I bought a four book series _Phoebe Taplin's Moscow Walks_ Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.  We have used these books as a reference for many of our walks about Moscow.  Included in each book are some out of town trips, too.  This walk is entitled "Fairy Tales in Peredekino" and is found in the Spring book.  The books can be purchased at Le Pain Quotidien.  I am in no way affiliated, I just love the books and the bakery!
